Setting up an area for members
A login area consists of pages set to “Members only” and your guest list. Anyone who opens such a page without being signed in sees the sign-in page — in your colours, your typeface and your website’s language; KENJTEC does not appear on it.
There are no passwords. Your guests type their email address and get a link. If the address is known, it was a sign-in; if it is new, the access rule decides whether it may enter straight away or waits as a request. And because there is no password, there is no “Forgot password” either.
Members-only pages appear in the menu only for signed-in members, never in the footer, in the sitemap, on Google or in the “Take it with you” archive. You send invitations once the website is published.
- Create a page in “Pages & menu”, for example “Regulars”.
- Set it to “Members only” under “For visitors” and click “Apply selection”.
- Open “Members” under “Manage” on the left and check the “Access rule”.
- Publish the website.
Members cost no AI credit. Groups help you organise but grant no rights of their own: a member sees all members-only pages.
Who may enter — the access rule
Under “Members” → “Access rule” you decide what happens with a new address: “Anyone can join” — new addresses get access straight away; “I approve access” — requests wait for your decision; “Only people I invite” — only addresses you enter yourself.
The default is “I approve access”: otherwise a fresh area would be full of sign-ups nobody wanted by the second day. The rule takes effect immediately, without publishing, and existing members keep their access.
If a great many new addresses sign up in a short time, the builder switches from “Anyone can join” to “I approve access” for protection and tells you at the top of the list. Your area stays reachable; you then review new requests yourself.
- In the editor, click “Members” on the left.
- Expand “Access rule” and choose one of the three options.
Your choice is saved directly.
Adding and inviting members
With “Add member” you enter an address: “Email address”, a name if you like, and groups under “Assign a group”, separated by commas. With “Send an email invitation” the person gets their link straight away — possible once the website is published.
If the address is already on the list, the form tells you, and the existing entry stays as it is — nothing is overwritten or approved on the side.
- Open “Members” and click “Add member”.
- Enter the email address, and name and groups if needed.
- Tick “Send an email invitation” if the person should be invited straight away.
- Click “Create member”.
Adding many addresses at once
With “Add multiple” you paste a whole list: one address per line or separated by commas or semicolons, with names also as Name <address>. “Check list” shows each line with its result — ready, invalid, duplicate or already there. Nothing is saved or sent at this point.
Only the button for adding enters the ready addresses one after another, with an invitation if you like. “Stop after this request” stops the run; whatever is confirmed stays. An unclear response is never retried automatically, so nobody gets two invitations.
- In “Members”, click “Add multiple”.
- Paste your list under “Paste email addresses” and click “Check list”.
- Tick “Request invitations for the new entries” if needed and click the “Add … entries” button — it shows the number of ready addresses.
The response confirms that an invitation was requested — not that it arrived.
Approving requests, blocking, editing
If requests are waiting, the top shows how many, with “View requests”. For a request you click “Approve” — the person then gets their link — or “Reject”; a rejected address stays blocked.
“Block” takes a member’s access away immediately, even while they are signed in; “Approve” reverses it. Under “Edit” you change name and groups or remove the entry with “Delete member”. Depending on the access rule, a deleted address can sign up again; to keep someone out, block them.
“Search”, “Status” and “Group” filter the list. Every entry shows its “Last access”.
“Download as Excel” gives you the whole guest list as a spreadsheet: address, name, groups, status and when someone was added, invited, confirmed and last came in. That is how you take your guests’ data with you, for your records or a move. This uses no AI credit.
- In “Members”, click “View requests”.
- Click “Approve” or “Reject” on a request.
- To block a member, click “Block” and then “Block now”.
What your guests see
When a guest opens a members-only page, they see the sign-in page: they type their email address and click “Send link”. The response is always the same — so the form never reveals who is on your list.
The link in the email is valid for one hour. A click on it signs the guest in, and the sign-in lasts thirty days. At the bottom of the page it then says who the guest is signed in as, with “Sign out” — important on shared computers.
The emails come from a KENJTEC sender address, with your website’s name as the sender name. Each one carries the link “Remove me from the list”: anyone can take themselves off without asking you.
