Opening BusinessCloud

BusinessCloud ai is your company’s office in the browser: files, photos, appointments, contacts, tasks and office documents in one place. There is nothing to install. You reach it at cloud.kenjtec.com or through your dashboard on kenjtec.com.

BusinessCloud is part of the plans; how much storage comes with each one is on the pricing page. Without a plan, the way in leads to a page that tells you how to book one. If a plan ends, your BusinessCloud account is put on hold: you are signed out, and your public links — shared files and folders, public calendars, albums — stop responding. Nothing is deleted; with a new plan everything is back, links included.

The first time you open it, BusinessCloud sets up your space and shows your files. Two folders are already there, named in the language of your BusinessCloud: “My first folder” and “Media” with a few welcome images and a short video. Both are yours — rename them, fill them or delete them.

In the dashboard on kenjtec.com, Ana chooses “Tools” and clicks “BusinessCloud ai”; Café Lumen’s BusinessCloud appears with the folders “My first folder” and “Media”.
  1. Open your dashboard on kenjtec.com and choose “Tools”.
  2. Click “BusinessCloud ai” — it says “Open” underneath.
  3. BusinessCloud opens and shows your files.

Signing in with your KENJTEC account

BusinessCloud has no second password — it knows your KENJTEC account. If you are already signed in on kenjtec.com, you go straight in without being asked again.

If you aren’t, the KENJTEC sign-in page appears with the sentence “One account for all KENJTEC applications.” The page is shown in the language you chose on kenjtec.com, otherwise in your browser’s language if KENJTEC offers it. On this page you enter your account’s email address and password. If you have switched on the second factor, the page then asks for the code from your authenticator app. Afterwards you are signed in to BusinessCloud and to kenjtec.com at the same time.

A browser that isn’t signed in opens cloud.kenjtec.com; on the KENJTEC sign-in page Ana enters her email address and password, clicks “Next” and lands in Café Lumen’s files.
  1. Open cloud.kenjtec.com.
  2. If the sign-in page appears, enter the email address and password of your KENJTEC account and click “Next”.
  3. If you have switched on the second factor, enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app and click “Sign in”.
  4. You land in your files.

Forgotten your password? Reset it on kenjtec.com — BusinessCloud has no password of its own, so the new one works here straight away. How to reset it is explained under Account & billing.

The bar at the top and the menu

At the top left, next to the logo, is the area you are in — “Files”, for example. Clicking it, or the button with the dots in front of it, opens the menu with every area of your office as tiles: “Files”, “Media” for photos and videos, “Calendar”, “Bookings”, “Contacts”, “Deck” for the task board, “Customers”, “Projects”, “Expenses”, “Invoices”, “Mail”, “Knowledge”, “Lists” and “Polls”. With some English settings four of them read “Photos”, “Appointment booking”, “Collectives” and “Tables” instead. One click on a tile switches area. On small screens only the button with the dots is shown at the top. Office documents are opened from your files.

The logo at the top left takes you back to your dashboard on kenjtec.com. At the top right, “Tools” opens the overview of all KENJTEC tools right here in BusinessCloud — the same one as in the menu on kenjtec.com. Whatever you choose in it opens in a new tab; BusinessCloud stays open. Next to it are search, your notifications, the button for Kenji, the KENJTEC AI, and your profile picture with the menu for appearance, settings and signing out.

“Mail” shows you what BusinessMail ai can do today: connect your domain to the email service you already use — “To DomainStudio” takes you straight there. KENJTEC’s own mailboxes can’t be ordered at the moment. BusinessCloud uses the same colours and icons as kenjtec.com — you recognise each area by its icon.

Ana clicks “Tools” in the bar; the overview of her tools opens below the bar, the card on the right explains the tool under the pointer, and a click on “WebSiteBuilder ai” opens it in a new tab while BusinessCloud stays open.
  1. Click “Tools” at the top right.
  2. The overview opens below the bar: your tools in three groups, BusinessCloud marked “Current tool”, and every tool your plan doesn’t include marked “Add on”.
  3. Choose the tool you need — it opens in a new tab. Press “Esc” or click outside to close the overview again.

Quotes and invoices with Invoice

“Invoices” in BusinessCloud opens Invoice: you write quotes and invoices right inside BusinessCloud, with the same account. How to set up and use Invoice is explained in the Invoice chapter — starting with Setting up company details and logo.

Invoice works with the rest of your office: you take customers from your contacts, payment deadlines appear in your calendar, and every issued invoice lands as a PDF in your files.

Appearance, accessibility and language

Under your profile picture you’ll find “Appearance and accessibility”. There you choose “Light theme” or “Dark theme”, each also with high contrast, and the “Dyslexia font”, whose letters are easier to tell apart. Your choice applies to your account on every device; KENJTEC’s colours and icons stay in every theme.

BusinessCloud uses the language of your KENJTEC account and shows dates and times in the format that goes with that language — British for English. You choose the language on kenjtec.com under “Language and currency” or, while you are signed in, with the language selector at the bottom of the page. When you open BusinessCloud or return to its tab, it switches to the new language. If a document or dialogue is open there, or you have already typed something on the page, it waits so that nothing is lost; it switches when you next reload the page or open another area, if not sooner.

Changing the “Language” or “Locale” field in BusinessCloud’s settings therefore doesn’t last: BusinessCloud then sets both back to match your account’s language. “First day of week” stays as you set it. BusinessCloud doesn’t offer Hindi yet; if you have chosen Hindi, BusinessCloud appears in English, with dates and times shown as is usual in India.

Ana opens “Appearance and accessibility” from her profile picture and picks “Dark theme”; Café Lumen’s files turn dark straight away.
  1. Click your profile picture at the top right and choose “Appearance and accessibility”.
  2. Click the theme you want, for example “Dark theme” — it applies at once.
  3. Switch on the “Dyslexia font” if you need it.

Signing out

To sign out, click your profile picture at the top right and choose “Log out”. That ends your BusinessCloud session, and in this browser you are signed out of kenjtec.com too.

It works the other way round as well: when you sign out on kenjtec.com, your BusinessCloud session ends too — on every device, including a tab you left open. Whoever uses the computer after you won’t find your office open.

Ana clicks her profile picture at the top right and then “Log out”; BusinessCloud ends her session, and when she opens cloud.kenjtec.com again, the KENJTEC sign-in page asks for her email address and password — she is signed out of KENJTEC as well.
  1. Click your profile picture at the top right.
  2. Choose “Log out”.

See where your files are stored

Under Settings → Privacy, you can see where your Cloud data is stored: your files are kept in a data centre in Belgium. The map and list explain the same fixed storage location and the EU regions used for database backups.

The points on the map show information. Selecting one does not choose another storage location or move any files. The privacy policy link opens the further details in your language.

When BusinessCloud is briefly unavailable

While we update BusinessCloud, it shows a page headed “Briefly unavailable” or “We’re bringing your cloud up to date” for a moment. Your files are not touched. “Briefly unavailable” comes back by itself; reload the other page after a moment. You may have to sign in again afterwards — if you are signed in on kenjtec.com, no password is needed.

If a lot of requests come from your connection in a short time, BusinessCloud asks you to wait with “One moment, please”; after a minute or two it carries on. If a link leads nowhere, “This page doesn’t exist” appears — usually the file was moved or deleted. Your browser’s back button or cloud.kenjtec.com gets you going again.
